MUSIC DOESN’T HAVE A TALENT PROBLEM. IT HAS A SUPPORT PROBLEM
Artists are asking for more women on their team.
It’s time we backed them properly.
You’ve heard it. If not firsthand, then in interviews, on podcasts, or on award stages.
“I want more women on my team.”
Women managers.
Women agents.
Women promoters.
Women in senior decision making roles across the industry.
Because they want to feel understood, safe and seen - and to work with women who’ve navigated the same pressures, politics and creative realities.
That demand has always been here, and it’s growing louder.
But the industry hasn’t built enough women into senior roles to meet it.
We can debate the reasons.
But one thing is clear: we’re not investing enough in the women already here.
If the industry wants more women in leadership, it needs to support them properly.
Coaching.
Leadership development.
Real support.
Back the women already delivering, and then build the next generation.
If you want more women leading, invest in them.
And if you’re becoming one of those leaders, get the support you deserve.
Not only because artists are asking.
But because equality in leadership in music is long overdue.
Always in your corner,
Sarah
