A moment in your career when you really backed yourself.

“When I was 19, I worked as a legal assistant at a family law firm while attending college full time. Almost immediately after I started, the office manager left, and I wanted her job. So I convinced my boss to give me a shot.

Within a few months I taught myself enough about being a paralegal and running an office to get the job, which I kept for 5 years.

That taught me the power of my voice, knowledge, resourcefulness, and knowing my worth.”

One thing you’re proud of in your career.

“I am proud that I am blazing a trail my own way - as an entrepreneur, a mother, a loud feminist, a disruptor...

I am who I am and that doesn't change regardless of the rooms I enter or tables I sit at.

By believing that I am worthy and capable of every opportunity I want gives other women permission to believe the same.

My greatest achievement is inspiring other women to take big risks on themselves. “

Name another woman in music who inspires you, and why.

Marcie Allen is a trailblazing force of nature whom I've recently had the pleasure of interviewing.

I left our discussion ready to throw my hair in a bun, pour a cup of coffee, and start climbing mountains to get to the top of my career.

Marcie's raw honesty and integrity are qualities I deeply admire and wish more people in our industry possessed.

Marcie is a reminder that you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps and succeed, but only if you're willing to put in the hard work. “
