Dana Erickson
Co-Founder & Partner, Grandstand Media
A moment in your career when you really backed yourself.
“Deciding to make the jump and form Grandstand Media fourteen years ago with three other like-minded women.
At that time, I was in a place where I felt like I couldn’t really hack it in the business, struggling financially and was looking to get out.
But, when the four of us joined forces it created a support system that made me a better, more confident publicist and ultimately I’m glad I saw it through! ”
One thing you’re proud of in your career.
“I’ve always led with the idea that kindness and humor are a necessity for this job and I like to think that I’ve maintained that attitude over the years.
I work with so many artists, brands, and festivals, and it can be challenging to work with so many personalities, but I strive to remain true to myself and my core values. ”
Name another woman in music who inspires you, and why.
“So many and I feel bad for leaving anyone out but I wanna shout out Kelly Chappel at Live Nation.
She is such a badass!
It is truly impressive to see her operate at such a high level in that sector of the industry all the while maintaining her grit, humor, and drive. And she goes out of her way to lift up other women instead of protecting her space.
As someone who benefited from having mentors throughout my career (shoutout to Nicole Vandenberg and Kathy Reilly), I know how important that can be, but also how time consuming, but she recognizes the value and that it's worth the effort.”
