Apparently I’m designed to Disrupt

I didn’t expect Human Design to explain my coaching style this accurately.

For years, I kept hearing people talk about Human Design and I had no idea what they were talking about.

Manifestors. Generators. Profiles. Channels. Crosses.

It all sounded slightly like a futuristic wellness cult mixed with a sci fi film.

But I was curious.

One thing about me as a coach is that I’m endlessly interested in people. Why we behave the way we do. Why some women trust themselves instantly while others override their instincts constantly.

So recently, alongside my coaching work, I decided to explore Human Design through some private sessions, because I think self awareness in any form is interesting.

Turns out I’m apparently a “Splenic Manifestor”.

Which, according to Human Design, is thought to make up around 1% of the population. Wowsers!

I was told I’m here to:
• initiate
• lead
• disrupt outdated paradigms
• trust my instincts
• move before others can fully see the vision

That does sound fairly on brand for a woman trying to challenge outdated culture in the music industry and help women lead differently within it.

Apparently Manifestors are not designed to endlessly people please, over explain themselves, or wait around for permission either. Wonderful news as that’s not something I’ve ever practised! And it’s something I wish more women in music were encouraged to believe.

Another part described me as having a “brainwave channel” which supposedly means:
• seeing patterns quickly
• spotting truth fast
• adapting rapidly
• improvising naturally
• sensing things before they’re fully visible to others

And THAT really spoke to me, and explains a huge amount about how I coach.

Clients often tell me:
“You picked up on that immediately.”
“You spotted the real issue before I did.”
“You heard what I wasn’t saying.”

My coaching has never been about scripts or formulas.
A lot of it is instinct.
Pattern recognition.
Listening deeply.
Feeling shifts quickly.
Knowing when to challenge and when to hold space.

There was also something in my report about balancing leadership with solitude and needing freedom and autonomy to thrive.

That one hit too.

Because whilst I love coaching women, speaking, connecting, building community and championing people. But I also need quiet. Reflection. Space. Freedom to think. Freedom to create.

The older I get, the less interested I am in forcing myself into ways of working or leading that don’t actually fit who I am.

I know a lot of women in music resonate with that.

Women who’ve spent years over preparing and over delivering.
Trying to fit leadership moulds that were never designed with them in mind.

Whether Human Design is science, spirituality, psychology, nonsense, or something in between, I don’t actually think that’s the point.

The point is this:

Anything that helps us understand ourselves more honestly has value.

And the more I understand myself, the better coach I become.

So if you’re a woman working in music who’s looking for a coach who can help you trust your instincts more, stop second guessing yourself, and lead in a way that actually feels true to who you are, get in touch here.
