A moment in your career when you really backed yourself.

“When I birthed a business and a baby in the same nine months, on purpose.

Let me rewind.  I worked at major record labels for two decades and fiercely worked my way up to becoming an Executive Vice President.  Through that journey, a spark to design operational business solutions for culture creators was ignited.

In late 2023, I brought that to life by launching my first entrepreneurial venture, EIGHTYONEB, and then, in early 2024, delivered my first child as a solo parent.”

One thing you’re proud of in your career.

“I’m extremely proud to have been a part of many incredible artist projects throughout the years, in both big and small ways.  But the chapter of my career that I’m most proud of, so far, is my time at Geffen - building and leading a brand new team through the pandemic.

It was an unprecedented period of time in the world, right as we were reimagining a new era of an iconic brand.  To generate the artist-level successes and staff growth that we did in those few years, required invaluable skills and relationships that I have, and will continue to, carry forward.”

Name another woman in music who inspires you, and why.

“I’ve been inspired by many women in music, but right now I have to say Mo Hiromoto, founder of HIROMOTO, Inc.

After 16 years at major record labels, Mo had a business idea and pivoted to entrepreneurship with such conviction that made the unknown possible.

At a time when our identities get intertwined with what we do, Mo took what she did as a record executive, extracted the skills that made her great at it and launched a wellness business that sits at the intersection of self-care and culture.  Mo’s tenacity is most admirable and her MOments, like R&Breathe Sessions, spark joy.”
