Sarah Slater

Managing Director of Ticketmaster, UK

A moment in your career when you really backed yourself.

“One of the biggest on-sales I'd been part of in 2024. Enormous demand, a lot of pressure, and a room full of people who all had strong opinions about how it should go.

I backed the experience I had and spoke up, worked closely with some brilliant colleagues, and we delivered through what was genuinely one of the most demanding periods I've known.

It reminded that your instincts are there for a reason so trust them, and take pride in taking your seat at the table.”

One thing you’re proud of in your career.

“Building strong relationships across the industry.

This industry is unique because of the experiences we all go through, it means the people in it become part of your life in a way that's hard to explain from the outside.

I'm proud that the people I've worked with over the years know they can pick up the phone, and I know the same is true the other way! That kind of mutual trust takes time to build but it’s worth every bit of it.”

Name another woman in music who inspires you, and why.

“Sam Isles.

She brought me into Ticketmaster, has always had my back, and is someone I've learned so much from throughout my career.

She's also a mum to two amazing girls, so her perspective on balancing family and work (or sometimes not balancing it at all!) has always been invaluable.

She's a true grafter, constantly innovating and never afraid to roll her sleeves up and make things happen. She's proof that you can be ambitious, supportive and authentic all at the same time.”
