Zac Fox

CEO, Kilimanjaro Live and the KMJ Music Pillar

A moment in your career when you really backed yourself.

“There are many moments that I can point as pivotal and that pushed me into a whole new area or a new level, but I think the one time that I can say I really backed myself was when I was asked:

“Who do you think should be running Kilimanjaro Live?”

And I just put my hand up.

It was both the most ridiculous idea I had ever had; and also entirely the right response.”

One thing you’re proud of in your career.

“I am proud of the friendships I have made along the way.

This is not an easy industry, and the toughest days are so much easier when sharing them with people who understand. When I was still running the big shows myself it made bad days better and turned good days into an utter joy.

This industry attracts incredibly resourceful and intelligent people and I love how many are my friends.

2007 was a particularly good year for adding awesome people to my collection and it has been fun to see us all progress in our individual careers.”

Name another woman in music who inspires you, and why.

“ Adele Slater, SVP at The Team.

We have known each other since 1999 when she joined MCP as receptionist, a role I had also held. We’ve been friends ever since and I’ve watched her move through the industry to the role she has now as a senior agent.

She has some very big artists on her books these days, but she approaches every artist at all levels with the same amount of care and dedication.

She works incredibly hard for her artists and also puts a huge amount of time into supporting, mentoring and leading those around her."
