WHAT IF THE VERSION OF SUCCESS YOU’VE BEEN CHASING…ISN’T EVEN YOURS?

Success in the music industry is often sold to us as working with big artists, chasing numbers, and saying yes to everything; until there’s nothing left of you.

We’re told to climb the ladder, stay visible, and hustle harder, because that’s how you “make it.”

But so many of the women I coach are starting to question that version.

That gnawing feeling that no matter how hard you work, or how much of your personal life you give up for music, it’s still not enough.

The women I coach come to me with impressive careers.

They’ve worked for years in the industry and built a solid reputation.

But underneath it all, they’ve started to ask themselves:

Am I fulfilled?

What do I really want now?

Am I measuring success by my own values, or someone else’s idea of “making it”?

And somewhere along the way, the joy of it all has started to fade.

Yep. I know that world well.

On paper, my career looked impressive; working at global record labels with artists like Coldplay, Foo Fighters, One Direction, Kings Of Leon and Katy Perry.

Sitting in meetings, strategising how to grow their sales.

To a lot of people, it probably looked like I’d made it, but inside, it didn’t feel that way.

I wanted more than a conveyor-belt of sales targets and the short-lived thrill of a number one.

I craved real connection, impact, and being seen as a leader.

I still wanted success, but I wanted to define it on my terms.

Not what others expected. Not what I thought I should want five years ago.

Things change. We change.

Maybe your path looks different, but the feeling is familiar.

You’ve pushed, achieved, sacrificed… and still feel the heaviness of not-quite-there.

You’re allowed to want more. Or different. Or both.

Redefining success doesn’t mean playing small or giving up on your dreams.

It means checking in with yourself and asking:

“Is this still what I really want?”

It means choosing a version of success that actually feels good and doesn’t drain the life out of you.

Success can look like:

– Leading with clarity, not people-pleasing

– Saying no without guilt (and meaning it)

– Choosing work that excites you and respects your boundaries

– Feeling confident in the room, not shrinking to fit

– Letting go of old titles or metrics that no longer define you

Because the real win is backing yourself; even when the industry’s version of success says “more, faster, louder.”

Here’s what a couple of my clients have shared since working with me:

💬 “For the first time in years, I feel like I’m trusting myself and I’m curious and excited about the possibilities ahead.”

💬 “I feel a resolve in what I need to do next that was really missing previously.”

This is the work I do with women in music every day.

So take a moment and step back from the noise, because the version of success that fits you now might not be the one you signed up for five years ago.

And that’s okay.

What matters is what you choose to do next.

If you’re ready to explore what success looks like for you now, I’d love to support you.

You’re not alone.
