WHAT IF THE VERSION OF SUCCESS YOU’VE BEEN CHASING…ISN’T EVEN YOURS?

Success is often sold to us as hitting targets, chasing numbers, and climbing a ladder that never seems to end.

In the music industry, it’s usually dressed up as:

Big artist names. Bigger egos. Hustle culture.

And that gnawing feeling that no matter how hard you work, or how much of your personal life you give up for music, it’s still not enough.

So many of the women I coach come to me with impressive careers.

Years in the same job. Promotions earned. A reputation built.

But underneath it all, they start to ask:

Is this it?

Am I fulfilled?

What do I really want from my life now?

Am I still learning, growing, excited to get up in the morning?

Am I measuring success by my own values, or someone else’s idea of “making it”?

They’ve ticked the boxes.

Done what was expected.

But somewhere along the way, the joy of their career started to fade.

Yep. I know that world well.

On paper, my career looked impressive; working at global record labels with artists like Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Kings Of Leon and Katy Perry.

Sitting in meetings, strategising how to grow their sales.

To a lot of people, it looked like I’d made it.

But inside, it didn’t feel that way.

I wanted more than sales targets and the short-lived thrill of a number one album.

I craved real connection, impact, and being seen as a leader; not just someone good at business development.

I still wanted success. I still wanted to lead.

But I wanted to define what that looked like for me.

Not what others expected.

Not what I thought I should want based on who I was five years ago.

Because things change, and so do we.

Maybe your path looks different, but the feeling is familiar.

You’ve pushed, achieved, sacrificed… and still feel the heaviness of not-quite-there.

You’re allowed to want more. Or different. Or both.

Redefining success doesn’t mean playing small or giving up on your goals.

It means checking in with yourself and asking:

“Is this still what I really want?”

It means choosing a version of success that actually feels good and doesn’t drain the life out of you.

Success can look like:

– Working in a way that honours your energy

– Saying yes to both joy and ambition

– Building a career that reflects your values, not someone else’s idea of “making it”

Here’s what a couple of my clients have shared:

💬 “For the first time in years, I feel like I’m trusting myself and I’m curious and excited about the possibilities ahead.”

💬 “I feel a resolve in what I need to do next that was really missing previously.”

This is the work I do with women in music every day.

It’s not about giving up.

It’s about going after the version of success that’s actually yours.

So take a moment. Step back from the noise.

Because the version of success that fits you now might not be the one you signed up for five years ago.

And that’s okay.

What matters is what you choose next.

If you’re ready to explore what success looks like for you now, I’d love to support you.

This is the work I do every day, and you’re not alone in wanting something different.

Feel free to reach out if this resonates here.
